Expose the Wild
About me
I’d like to be able to tell you that my passion for photography started with my first camera when I was a child. I find stories of people pursuing their childhood dreams so inspiring. However, that is not the case for me. My love of photography began with a Nikon kit camera from Costco that I got in my mid twenties. I bought it to take with me on our first cruise to Belize and Mexico. I got some cool shots but nothing to write home about, more importantly is that I ended that trip with a new found love of taking photographs. I used that camera for another fours years, shooting close to my home, honing my skills with both practice and hours and hours of YouTube. I eventually starting shooting raw and learned to edit my shots which significantly improved the quality of my photos. It was when I finally replaced that camera for a high end DLSR from Canon, along with some nice lenses, that my love of taking photographs became a passion for photography. Since then I have upgrade my kit with additional lenses and a couple new camera bodies and spent more hours then I can count learning the intricacies of photo editing.
In the last 10 years I’ve had the chance to shoot in several European countries, the Caribbean and various locations in North and Central America. I am now among a very select few fortunate enough to be able to travel the world full-time, continually attempting and failing to master an unmasterable passion. This site is a place for anyone interested in wildlife or photography to share in my journey as I travel the world, exposing the wild!
